📝 SCR Act Apprentice Selection Process 2026
The selection for South Central Railway Act Apprentice 2026 will be done purely on merit, based on the academic performance of the candidates. There will be no written test or viva-voce.
- Stage 1 — Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained in the 10th class (minimum 50% aggregate) and the ITI marks, giving equal weightage to both.
- Stage 2 — Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates, based on the merit list, will be called for Document Verification. During DV, all original certificates including educational qualifications (10th, ITI), caste, EWS, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen certificates, RDAT registration, and medical fitness certificate will be thoroughly verified.
- Stage 3 — Medical Fitness: Candidates must produce a medical fitness certificate from a government-authorized doctor (Gazetted, not below Assistant Surgeon) in the prescribed format at the time of Document Verification. Without this, candidates will not be considered for selection.
Tie-breaking Rule: In case two candidates have the same aggregate percentage, the older candidate (higher age) will be preferred. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be given preference.
Training & Stipend: Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training as per the Central Apprenticeship Council syllabus and receive a stipend at prescribed rates during the training period.
