OR Passed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English (in Diploma or Intermediate/Matriculation if not a subject in Diploma). OR Passed a two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects (Physics and Mathematics) from recognized Boards with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English (in Vocational Course or Intermediate/Matriculation if not a subject in Vocational Course).
- For Other than Science Subjects: Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from recognized Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. - Essential Requirements: Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT as on date of registration will be considered. Exact aggregate percentage of marks before decimal (e.g., 49.99% taken as 49%) will be considered. Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examination can also appear for Other than Science Subjects.

Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay an examination fee as follows:
- Examination Fee: ₹550/- plus 18% GST (Total: ₹649/-), which is non-refundable.
- Payment Mode: Online via Payment Gateway through Net Banking, Debit Cards, Credit Cards, or UPI.
- Appeal Medical Board Fee: ₹40/- (if required), to be deposited through Electronic Military Receivable Order (e-MRO)/Military Receivable Order (MRO).
- Refund Policy: Application fees are non-refundable and cannot be reserved for other recruitment processes. In case of multiple payments for a single application, the excess amount will be refunded to the originating account after registration closes.
Salary/Stipend Structure (During 4-year Engagement)
The Agniveervayu package includes a structured monthly stipend and other benefits:
- 1st Year: ₹30,000/- per month (In Hand: ₹21,000/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹9,000/-)
- 2nd Year: ₹33,000/- per month (In Hand: ₹23,100/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹9,900/-)
- 3rd Year: ₹36,500/- per month (In Hand: ₹25,550/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹10,950/-)
- 4th Year: ₹40,000/- per month (In Hand: ₹28,000/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹12,000/-)
- Additional Benefits: Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable), Dress and Travel allowances, Ration, Clothing, Accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per existing rules.
- Seva Nidhi Package: Approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs after four years (₹5.02 lakh candidate contribution + ₹5.02 lakh Government contribution, excluding interest).
- Insurance Cover: Non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs for the duration of engagement period.
- Note: No entitlement to gratuity and any kind of pensionary benefits. No contribution to Provident Fund required.
Selection Process
The selection procedure for Agniveervayu comprises the following stages:
- Phase-I - Online Test: An objective-type test, bilingual (except for the English paper).
- Science Subjects: 60 minutes duration, covering Physics, Mathematics, and English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
- Other than Science Subjects: 45 minutes duration, covering English and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
- Both (Science & Other than Science): 85 minutes duration, covering Physics, Mathematics, English, and RAGA.
- Marking Pattern: +1 mark for correct answers, 0 for unattempted, -0.25 for wrong answers. Marks will be normalized across different sessions.
- Phase-II - Testing at Airmen Selection Centre (ASC): State-wise shortlisted candidates will proceed to:
- Document Verification
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT-I & PFT-II)
- Adaptability Test-I (Objective type written test)
- Adaptability Test-II (As per policy in vogue)
- Physical Fitness Test Details:
- PFT-I: 1.6 Km run (Male: within 7 minutes, Female: within 8 minutes).
- PFT-II for Male: 10 Push-ups (1 min), 10 Sit-ups (1 min), 20 Squats (1 min).
- PFT-II for Female: 10 Sit-ups (1 min 30 sec), 15 Squats (1 min).
- Phase-III - Medical Examination: Conducted by an Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards, including baseline investigations (Blood tests, Urine tests, X-Ray, ECG, USG for females, etc.). An Appeal Medical Board is available for candidates declared medically unfit (Fee: ₹40/-).
- Final Selection: Based on state-wise merit, medical fitness, availability of vacancies, and meeting all eligibility criteria.
General Information/Instructions
- Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates (male & female) are eligible. Candidates must undertake not to marry or get pregnant (for female candidates) during the four-year engagement period, as it will lead to discharge.
- Medical Standards: Specific criteria for Height (Minimum 152 cms, with relaxations for North East/hilly regions/Lakshadweep), Weight (proportionate to height and age), Chest (Male: minimum 77 cms with 5 cms expansion; Female: minimum 5 cms expansion), Vision, Colour Vision (CP-II), Hearing, and Dental health (Minimum 14 dental points with healthy gums). No history of LASIK/PRK surgery is permitted.
- Body Tattoo: Permanent body tattoos are generally not permitted, except on inner forearms, back of hand/palm, and tribal tattoos as per custom. Offensive tattoos are strictly prohibited.
- NDPS Policy: Zero tolerance for consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, which is a criterion for rejection.
- Engagement Period: Four years under the Air Force Act 1950.
- Regular Cadre Opportunity: Up to 25% of each batch may be enrolled in the regular cadre based on performance and organizational requirements.
- Leave Entitlement: 30 days annual leave per year plus sick leave as per medical advice.
- Facilities: Medical & CSD Facilities are available at Service Hospitals during the engagement period.
- Identification Requirements: AADHAAR Card is mandatory (with exemptions for candidates from J&K, Ladakh, Assam, Meghalaya).
- Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited in testing areas. Possession will result in permanent debarment.
