✅ Eligibility Criteria: Age & Educational Qualifications
Age Limit (as of the last date of application):
- General Candidates: Maximum 30 years.
- ST/SC Candidates: Upper age limit relaxed by 5 years, i.e., up to 35 years.
- APST Candidates: Upper age limit is 37 years as per "Assistant Professor for Government Colleges of Arunachal Pradesh" Group 'A' Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) Recruitment Rules 2024.
- APST Candidates with further relaxation: A further relaxation of 5 years is applicable, making the maximum age up to 42 years.
- PwBD & Regular Government Servants: Age concession will be applicable as per the Government of Arunachal Pradesh rules and regulations in force.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must meet the following criteria as per UGC Regulations 2018, Sub-clause 4.0 and 4.1 (A or B):
- A Master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale) in the concerned, relevant, or allied subject from an Indian University or an accredited Foreign University.
- Relaxation: A 5% mark relaxation (from 55% to 50%) at both Master's and Bachelor's Degree levels is provided for ST/SC candidates.
- In addition to the above, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
- OR, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standard and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments, shall be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement.
For Ph.D. candidates registered prior to July 11, 2009, exemption from NET/SLET/SET will be granted if they fulfill the following conditions (to be certified by the Registrar/Dean):
- The Ph.D. Degree was awarded in regular mode.
- The Ph.D. thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners.
- An open Ph.D. viva-voce was conducted.
- The candidate published at least two research papers from their Ph.D. work, with at least one in a referred journal.
- The candidate presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agencies.
- NOTE: NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master's Programmes in disciplines where these tests are not conducted by UGC, CSIR, or similar accredited bodies.
- OR, a Ph.D. Degree obtained from a Foreign University/Institutions with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, THE, or ARWU.
📝 Selection Process
The selection process for the APPSC Assistant Professor positions will involve the following stages:
- Screening & Shortlisting: A Screening Committee will shortlist eligible candidates for the interview based on their Academic Score, as specified in Appendix-II (Table 3 B) of the University Grants Commission Regulation, 2018. Candidates will be invited for an interview in a ratio of 1:3, subject to availability.
- Viva-voce/Interview: The final selection will be made through a Viva-voce/Interview, carrying a total of 100 marks.
- Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 50% of the total marks in the interview to qualify for selection. Relaxation for PwBD candidates will apply as per government notifications.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce all original certificates/documents and mark sheets in original at the time of the interview for verification. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- Medical Test & Antecedents Verification: The appointing authority will conduct a medical test and verify the character, antecedents, authenticity of documents, and disability certificates (if applicable) before final appointment. Provisional recommendation does not confer an automatic right to appointment.
- PwBD Selection: For Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates, the selection process will align with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and Arunachal Pradesh Rules, 2018.
